Playa Colorada is situated in the heart of Mochima National Park which encompasses an endless parade of white-sand, palm-fringed Caribbean beaches, 32 islands and a significant portion of the adjacent coastal mountain ranges with elevations up to 1,000 metres. Its name in the native language means ‘abundant waters’ and they are great for scuba or snorkel. Trips to the offshore islands are from the beach right in front our Lodge. There’s excellent kayaking and virtually a guarantee of interacting with dolphins.
Playa Colorada is very picturesque - quiet during the week and livelier during weekends and public holidays. We have various toys to help you explore and enjoy the surroundings. These include a fleet of sea kayaks - you can hire these on a daily 'freedom rental' basis or enjoy a guided expedition camping out on deserted islands and chasing dolphins that skip across the bay all day long. We also have a climbing wall at the lodge for abseil tuition. After some guidance and safety instruction we will take you inland to a magnificent waterfall - with views across the National Park - to put your new found skills to use! Back at the lodge the evenings can include salsa and merengue dance lessons from our expert crew!
Our overnight package includes breakfast and dinner
