Learn Spanish & Volunteer

Another award winning program! Based in either Merida or Playa Colorada this program combines tailored intensive Spanish lessons with volunteering. We have many volunteer placement options and they fall into two main categories - community based activities and environmental conservation. Students may enrole for 5 or 8 weeks. The 5 week program is probably better suited to students with an established level of Spanish proficiency who are ready to hit the ground running... after one week of Intensive Spanish lessons you will be placed on your chosen volunteer assignment where an ability to communicate will be required! The 8 week program works well for those new to the language as you will have 4 weeks Intensive Spanish before being placed on your volunteer assignment.

  • Learn Spanish & Volunteer - 5 or 8 weeks

    This program involves combining our intensive 'Learn Spanish' program with volunteering placements. We have a five week OR eight week option. For the five week program - week 1 is Intensive Spanish followed by 4 weeks of volunteering. For the eight week program weeks 1-4 are Intensive Spanish followed by 4 weeks of volunteering... During the 'Intensive Spanish' weeks you will receive 20 hours intensive Spanish tuition in addition to accomodation, breakfast and dinner. After this period of Intensive Spanish tuition you then have 4 weeks of Volunteer Work in either Merida or Playa Colorada (depending on location of work placement – see below). During the Volunteer Work you will continue to receive Spanish language support tailored to your Volunteer Work placement - 10 hours per week - to boost your confidence and effectiveness. Students may enrol in this program at either our Posada in Merida (start date every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month), or our Caribbean Lodge on Playa Colorada (start dates Travelling Classroom start dates ONLY).
