Jakera’s journey began in the 90s in the coastal village of Playa Colorada, Venezuela, where we first brought travelers to explore Venezuela’s unique cultures and hidden natural wonders, including the Orinoco Delta, home of the ancient Warao people. The warm Warao, known for their kindness and timeless traditions, sparked our commitment to create unique, community-driven travel experiences that leave a lasting impact. And we discovered that "Jakera" itself means hello, goodbye, beautiful, thanks, or simply pure vida—a spirit that defines our approach to every experience we create.

Today, Jakera has evolved into a leading provider of gap year adventures, sustainable travel programs, and Spanish language immersion across Latin America, with dynamic programs in Costa Rica, Cuba, and Guatemala. In each location, our programs combine Spanish classes, fun adventures, cultural immersion, and community volunteer work, empowering travelers to learn, grow, and connect.
